“Have you ever felt like you’re not human enough?”
The Human Happiness Program is our upcoming sci-fi/romance film. Set in London, 2075, it tells the story of Andrew. Andrew is an archivist: a human employed by robots to use his creativity to find new uses for meaningless items of landfill. It’s a dead-end job, and the only thing he looks forward to is his weekly counselling session with Tanner, the company empathist.
But when Andrew finds himself stuck on his annual self-assessment form, he’s thrown into existential crisis, questioning his place in a world of pointless, abstract jobs, of robots trying to cultivate human creativity, of bizarre humanist self-help books – a hive of 60 million people try to work out whether there might be a formula for human happiness.
